According to Vietnam National Fisheries Quality Assurance and Veterinary Directorate (Nafiqaved), eleven Vietnamese seafood producers have been permitted to resume export to Russia by Federal Agency of Vetarinary and Phytosanitary (VSSP) since August 8th 2007.
All seafood products exported to Russia will be landed in St.Peterburg and Vladivostok harbours.
The decision was issued after VSSP concluded that these eleven companies had seriously fixed hygene and food safety violations which VSSP detected in the first inspection in March 2007.
This month, Nafiqaved and VSSP is planning to sign a cooperative agreement in enhancing Vietnam’s seafood export to Russia. Two agencies hope that the list of Vietnam’s seafood exporters which meet Russia’s hygiene and food safety standards will be extended. Besides, VSSP will continue to inspect other seafood processors in Vietnam.
